Search engines is increasing the cost difference between the iPad Small and its small product by lowering the cost of a similar Nexus 7 from $249 to $199. A Nexus 7 with 32 gb of storage space is being introduced for $249 in apparent effort to discourage even more individuals from buying the iPad Small. It's still costly than the Amazon kindle Flame, which starts at $159 for a no-frills design.

A contract-free edition is available for $299 with 8 gb of storage space and $349 for the 16-gigabyte design.
